Ammonites ruled the Oceans for 370 million years before mysteriously becoming extinct at the end of the Cretaceous period. Ammonites had a head with a mouth, surrounded by tentacles, and a hard shell divided into chambers. A type of mollusk they are related to Nautiliods, Squid and Octopus.
