Rare Black Ammonite Fossile Pendant wrapped in 14kt rolled gold Overall pendant size is 2.25" x 1.5" Beautiful, cut in half and polished Ammonite Fossil from Madagascar. Ammonites ruled the Oceans for 370 million years before mysteriously becoming extinct at the end of the Cretaceous period. Ammonites had a head with a mouth, surrounded by tentacles, and a hard shell divided into chambers. A type of mollusk they are related to Nautiliods, Squid and Octopus.
